Scholars in Action Keynote Panel Discussion – “Tackling Mythbusting in Higher Education”

Apr 18, 2024 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Scholars in Action Days we are excited to present our keynote panel discussion, “Tackling Mythbusting in Higher Education.”

Three Springfield College faculty and staff members representing different disciplinary orientations will engage in a dialogue on how they approach tackling myths, misinformation, and associated in-group loyalties that entrench viewpoints and make bridging differences so challenging. The panelists are Chelsea Allison, PhD, assistant professor of Nutrition and Exercise Science; Mackenzie Dunn, outreach reference librarian; and James O’Brien, PhD, chair of the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science and associate professor of Physics and Mathematics.

Prize winners will be announced following the keynote panel.

We hope you will join us at this event and help us celebrate 20 years of scholarly excellence. We ask faculty to encourage their students to attend. Scholars in Action events count toward the Wellness Passport.

This event is free and open to the Springfield College community.
