Senior Dance Concert: “Chasing Furtherance”

Union West, Stitzer Welcome Center at Judd Gymnasia

Class of 2023 seniors Angelina Cohen, Nicole Henkel, and Sydney Schwartz aim to capture and share their passion for dance through this concert, titled “Chasing Furtherance.” With Cohen’s pursuit of a career in the professional dance field, she has embraced the challenge of embodying contemporary works by David Dorfman, Sarah Zehnder, and Springfield College alumna Cynthia Duran ’22, which will be presented in the forms of a solo, duet, and trio. Henkel is thrilled to choreographically share powerful, evocative themes of intensity and strength through group work in a diverse range of movement vocabularies: contemporary, tap, and musical theater. Schwartz combines her passions for dance and fiber arts with her choreography, exploring the complexities and cyclicality of birth, life, and death.

“Together, we welcome you into our stories and invite you to follow us on our dance journeys. We hope that this performance moves you, brings joy, evokes questions, and inspires you as we look onward to futures filled with light, love, and dance.”

Both performances will be followed by a brief Q&A with the seniors and dancers.
