The Weckwerth Lecture -Leadership 6S: How to Love Them and Lead Them with Empathy
Presented by Vera Jones, Award-winning TV and Radio Broadcaster, and Motivational Speaker
With Gallup reporting a whopping 67% of workers identified as “disengaged” or unhappy at work, organizations are finding greater truth in the adage “they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” With this impetus, Vera Jones has designed the Leadership 6S interactive workshop to help leaders cultivate their professional capacities to engage and relate with greater empathy.
This workshop is designed to help participants identify and explore six core workplace motivators that, when successfully communicated and implemented, help leaders experience better relationships and results.
Vera Jones is a motivational speaker, communication coach, author, award-winning television and radio broadcaster, and Syracuse University Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete. She is also known for her extensive, veteran background in broadcasting, serving more than 30 years as a women’s basketball analyst and reporter for various networks, including ESPN, Fox Sports, Madison Square Garden Network, NBA-TV, and the Big Ten Network. Today, Jones can still be seen as the host of the seasonal women’s basketball show, Certifies Unscripted, and her motivational podcast, Perseverance Live.
This event is free and open to the Springfield College community.
The Weckwerth Lecture is named in honor of the late Charles F. Weckwerth, a Distinguished Springfield Professor of Humanics, and annually brings leading experts in the fields of sport management and recreation to Springfield College to address emerging trends in these fields.
