Intelligent Lives Documentary Film Screening – a Film by Dan Habib

September 27 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

Appleton Auditorium, Fuller Arts Center

Intelligent Lives stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of these central characters through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing in the U.S. The documentary by award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib, which runs an hour and 10 minutes, will be introduced by Kiernan O’Donnell, associate director for Vocational Services at the John E. Fogarty Center of North Providence. Following the screening, O’Donnell will lead a Q&A session about the film.

This event is free and open to the Springfield College community and the public.

Co-sponsored by the Springfield College Office of Inclusion and Community Engagement and New England Business Associates (neba). Project SEARCH at Springfield College, in collaboration with neba, provides unique opportunities for job exploration and skill building to interns with the goal of obtaining a sustainable career.
