Campus Visit from State Senator John C. Velis

State Sen. John C. Velis, D-Westfield, will visit the Springfield College campus to discuss legislative changes that affect area veterans. As both a legislator and veteran, Velis is concerned about the support that veterans receive in Massachusetts.

Velis will first meet with President Mary-Beth Cooper and other leaders from the College before speaking in front of veterans from the local community and veterans who attend Springfield College. Following his presentation, Velis will have lunch with our student veterans.
Velis joined the U.S. Army in 2010, and served in Afghanistan and South Korea, among other regions. During his second deployment to Afghanistan, he was promoted to major.
